Hawaii Girl, Yuna Ito To Release 9th Single “Urban Mermaid” In Japan October 24th

Hawaii-raised Japanese-Korean singer Yuna Ito (24) will be releasing her 9th single, “Urban Mermaid“ on October 24th in Japan. She first debuted with the single “ENDLESS STORY“ in 2005 and has sold over 471,974 copies. In January of this year, she released her debut album, “HEART“ and made it to #1 on the Oricon Chart (similar to Billboard) the first week and has sold over 516,000 copies, so far.
Yuna was born on September 20, 1983 in Los Angeles but moved to Hawaii three month later, where she was raised until the start of her singing career in Japan. She graduated from McKinley High School in 2001. She rose to fame after singing the hit theme song “Endless Story”, the movie adaption of famous manga NANA and played the character Reira. She sing mostly in Japanese and English. The recent video for the single “Mahaloha,” her first collaboration with Micro from Def Tech was shot here in Honolulu, mainly in Waikiki and at the Kakaako basketball court.
