08.08.08 – Lucky To Live In The 808 State
Last night, over 888 people gathered in Chinatown/Arts District to celebrate this lucky day, 08.08.08. The event featured live music, lots of great foods, arts & crafts booths, Chinese lions and a huge 16-by-20 foot inflatable screen was set up for party-goers to watch the opening of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Bubbles filled the air throughout the night.
A Once-In-A-Lifetime Event
The event started at 6pm and lasted til 10pm. Hotel Street was blocked off for this block party. Art District’s merchants were giving out free lucky bookmarks to write your wishes and hang them up on a bamboo thickets.
Two thousand bottles of soap bubbles were also given away at participating galleries. At exactly 8:08 pm, everyone was invited to participate in the ‘Bubble Wishing Moment’ by making wishes as they blow bubbles.
