Parade Of Champions Highlights In Waikiki
A Parade For Hawaii’s Champions
This past Labor Day (September 1, 2008), the city put on a special parade for Hawaii’s champions in Waikiki. The Parade Of Champions honored the World Champion Waipi’o Little League team, Olympic Gold Medalist Natasha Kai (U.S. Women’s National Soccer), past Hawaii Olympians and other 2008 national title-holders.
World Champion Waipio!
The late afternoon parade began at 5 p.m. down Kalakaua Avenue from Fort DeRussy to Kapiolani Park. A special Sunset On Beach party at Queen’s Surf followed after the parade.
