DINING OUT: Curry House CoCo ICHIBANYA at Ala Moana Center

Curry In A Hurry
On this very wet and rainy day in Honolulu, I decided to get dinner at Curry House CoCo ICHIBANYA at Ala Moana Center. I ordered the Chicken Cutlet Curry ($6.10) with Mixed Vegetable topping ($1.75). Depending on your appetite, you can customize your meal by selecting rice volume, spiciness and/or toppings (over 27 to choose from).

Coco Ichiban’s curry is pretty good. Certainly more Japanese style. I like that they separate the curry in the partitioned take-out plate so the katsu doesn’t get soggy. I don’t know about their Tsukemeno though. It’s a little too salty IMO and kinda’ weird-tasting. I still eat it, but personally I’d rather have it with something like, say Beni Shoga, or even just regular Daikon. Very reasonable prices, especially considering it’s a Japanese chain.
