Ready to upgrade?
WordPress.org just released a new version of WordPress 2.6 and I’ve just upgraded to the new version. Everything went well via the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin and so far, nothing is broken. I last upgraded to 2.51 just 16 days ago. Okay, I better go see what’s under the hood.

Today, I’ve upgraded to WordPress 2.5.1 from 2.2.2 sucessfully via the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin. Everything went well, except it didn’t reactive my plugins….oh well, I just activated it manually. So far, there’s no problem as I can see.
The updated version of WordPress includes over 70 fixes. Here are some of the highlights:

I’ve finally upgraded my site to WordPress 2.1 “Ella” after testing the upgrade installation on my other WordPress testing site via Fantastico Control Panel. So far, it’s running without any flaws and all plugins are working fine. I had a slight problem with the visual editor, but after clearing my browser cache, it’s finally fixed.

I finally learned how to use WordPress conditional tags to add a standalone sticky feature, ‘TopSpot’ only on the main page. Previously, I used a sticky post plugin called Adhesive and I’m still using Kimili Flash Embed plugin to embed my Slideshow into the template.

After over a week of learning and designing my first WordPress theme from scratch, I’ve decided to put it up for testing. I still have alot of styling to do and a few bugs to fix. So far, it’s looking great in Firefox and Opera. I haven’t tested this on IE 7 but IE 6 [...]
