Halloween Is Just Around The Corner…
Make plans to head out to The Arts District in Downtown Honolulu for the first-ever Hallowbaloo, a free Halloween Street Festival on October 31st. The party will definitely be extra-crazy as Halloween falls on a Friday, and most will not have to get up early the next day for work or school.

It’s Festa Time!
The Hawaii Council on Portuguese Heritage once again sponsored this year’s Portuguese Festa at McCoy Pavilion, Ala Moana Beach Park. This festival has been around for 30 years, featuring arts and crafts, local entertainment, genealogy consultations, cultural displays, prize giveaways and lots of authentic Portuguese food. Festa favorites like the Malasadas, Portuguese Bean Soup, Galinha Portuguesa (Portuguese Chicken), Vinha D’alhos Pork (Portuguese-style marinated pork) and much more. It was a wonderful day to enjoy the Portuguese culture.
The festival kicked off at nine in the morning and concluded at five in the afternoon. There was a $3 donation for admission.

Pau Hana Block Party
Tonight, a large crowd gathered after work for the 2nd Annual Taste Of The Arts in Downtown Honolulu’s The Arts District. Nu’uanu Avenue (between Beretania St. & King St.) was blocked off for tonight’s street festival block party.
Taste of the Arts showcases the cultural renaissance of The Arts District, celebrates the musicians that have been an integral part of that rebirth downtown, and highlights the variety of excellent international cuisine in The Arts District.

The Big Apple In Waikiki
Apple is set to open their fifth flagship store in the Five-O State (Hawaii), at the newly renovated Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki within the next couple of months or so, no opening date has been set. Currently, there are two other Apple stores in Hawaii, one at Ala Moana Center and the other at Kahala Mall, but the Waikiki store will be the largest retail store in Hawaii. Four other flagship Apple Stores in the United State are in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The Block Party Of All Block Parties
On Friday night last week, Kalakaua Avenue was transformed into Hawaii’s largest block party in celebration of Aloha Festivals’ 56th Waikiki Ho’olaule’a. This year’s theme was “HULA - The Art Of Hawaiian Dance“.
Unlike previous years, the block party was slightly reduced in size and didn’t quite stretch all the way to Kapahulu Avenue. Still, tens of thousands - locals and vistors - enjoyed a wonderful night of great hula, local entertainment, Hawaiian Crafts, Lei vendors and lots of ono-licious foods.

A Parade Fit For A King
After partying all night at the Waikiki Ho’olaule’a (Hawaii’s largest block party in Waikiki) on Friday night, thousands woke up early the next morning and lined Ala Moana Blvd. and Kalakaua Avenue to enjoy the 62nd Annual Aloha Festivals Floral Parade. The parade started at 9 a.m. starting at Ala Moana Beach Park and ending at Kapiolani Park.
